Iran Issues Warning of Consequences Should U.S. Violate Its ‘Red Line’

Iran Accuses U.S. of Complicity in Israeli Strikes, Warns of Retaliation if ‘Red Line’ Is Crossed

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ali Bahreini, accused the United States of being “complicit” in Israel’s ongoing military operations against Iran, warning that Tehran would retaliate directly if Washington crosses a defined “red line.”

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Bahreini stated, “We firmly believe that the United States is complicit in what Israel is doing. If we conclude that the U.S. is directly involved in attacks on Iran, we will respond accordingly.”

The warning comes amid escalating tensions following Israel’s surprise air campaign launched on June 13, which Tel Aviv claims is intended to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons—an allegation Tehran denies. Iran responded early Wednesday by launching hypersonic missiles at Israeli targets, marking another round in the intensifying conflict between the two long-standing adversaries.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has denied American involvement in Israel’s bombing campaign but has issued stern warnings to Iran, stating that his patience is “wearing thin.”

Bahreini condemned Trump’s remarks as “hostile” and “unwarranted,” asserting that Iran remains vigilant and ready to act.

“There is a line which, if crossed, will trigger a firm response,” Bahreini told reporters. “We will respond strongly to any aggression, whether it comes from Israel or the United States.”

He added that Tehran had sent a clear message to Washington: “Any aggression, including from the United States, will be met with firm resistance.”

The ambassador emphasized Iran’s determination to defend itself, declaring, “Nobody should expect Iran to show any kind of restraint.”

Bahreini also criticized Western nations for their response to the conflict, saying, “Not only are they failing to condemn the aggression, they are attempting to justify it.”

When asked about the possibility of resuming nuclear negotiations with the U.S., Bahreini said Tehran is currently focused solely on self-defense: “At this point, we are not considering any scenario other than defending ourselves.”

Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council, he further warned Israel’s allies: “Those who support the Israeli regime — with the United States at the forefront — should understand that they are endorsing violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.”
